Col.. Ryszard Kuklinski
A high ranking Officer
In the Polish Army he was.
He worked very hard
For his noble and difficult cause.
He did his work --
Extremely well --
To the Americans only,
The secrets he’d tell.
He would take pictures
To give them the proof.
This was not a ploy
Or a malicious spoof.
The Americans received
Much documentation.
The Colonel did it,
To save his Polish Nation.
Poland was to be
I.C.B.M - free --
But Russia would not honor
This old guarantee.
They escaped to America
Which was very nice.
They lost two sons in the process
That’s an awful, awful price.
To some he was a hero
To Russia he was a bum.
To me, he was a hero.
That’s where I’m coming from.
I had to write this poem
Without any hesitation.
To thank you, our hero
On behalf of the Polish Nation.
