Moses
Moses
My name is Moses
I am a Jew --
This is a history
Of what the Lord had me do.
“The Jews in Egypt
Are in bondage you see.
Go there, Moses,
And free them for Me.”
But Lord, that is not
An easy task --
“I will assist you,
All you do is ask.”
The sea, my Lord,
Is all around.
There is no safe passage,
And non can be found!
“Lead all of the Jews
To the edge of the sea.
Raise you cane Moses,
And it will part for thee.”
We were all gathered
At the edge of the sea.
I remembered how the Lord
Had instructed me.
I raised my cane
As I was told to do.
The waters parted,
My God, what a view!
We started crossing
Through the parted sea,
All of our people,
Including me.
There were Egyptians
In our pursuit,
The sea closed up
And got them good.
Now it’s the desert
That we have to cross.
How many will perish?
How large the loss!
The desert is dry,
There is nothing to drink.
The people, not happy,
Were putting up a stink!
“Take your cane, Moses,
And strike the ground.”
This is where cool water,
Now can be found.
The partying started,
What a big celebration!
Nothing was left --
To the imagination.
I went to the mountains,
As instructed to do.
Lord said, “Moses,
I have these for you.”
“Take these two tablets
That I’m giving you.
Show them to the people
And teach them too.”
“These are my commandments,
That they need to obey.
For this, in good graces,
Forever they’ll stay.”
It was the Ten Commandments
That the Lord had given.
You must forgive --
To be forgiven!

Jak poeta nie umie pisac wiersze to niech czyta innych
prace aby sie nauczyl.
Czy na pewno publikowanie wierszy w obcym języku na
tym portalu jest zgodne z jego regulaminem?
